Administrative Biographies
Lance Hodes
President
Lance Hodes began his carpentry career by working his way through graduate school where he earned a Masters of Fine Arts in Poetry from the University of Massachusetts. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Antioch College. As Lance began looking for an entry-level academic position with no success, he realized that working with wood rather than words was his true calling. Lance specialized in cabinet and furniture work but quickly expanded to include new homes, additions and renovations. Lance has always had strong, responsive design sensibilities and the ability to organize and collaborate with diverse groups of people on projects large and small. He uses those skills daily when running Haydenville Woodworking & Design.
Jim Turcotte
Project Manager
Jim's carpentry career spans over 30 years. Jim worked for the State of Massachusetts, Department of Mental Retardation at the Northampton State Hospital for over 25 years before the facility was closed. After a 2 year career change where Jim produced fishing flies for angler's and national distributors, he returned to his passion for carpentry and joined Haydenville Woodworking & Design as a lead carpenter and is now in charge of field operations.
Jeremy Winstead
Shop Manager
Jeremy Winstead started as an apprentice cabinetmaker in the San Francisco Bay area in 2003. He holds a bachelors degree in Music from the University of Southern Mississippi, near where he grew up, and a masteres degree in Music from the University of Massachusetts. Jeremy decided to settle in this area, where he began working at Haydenville Woodworking & Design as a cabinetmaker in 2007 and became the Shop Manager in 2009. Jeremy is particularly influenced by the Arts and Crafts and the Art Nouveau movements.
