Lance Hodes
President

Lance Hodes, PresidentLance Hodes began his carpentry career by working his way through graduate school where he earned a Masters of Fine Arts in Poetry from the University of Massachusetts. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Antioch College.  As Lance began looking for an entry-level academic position with no success, he realized that working with wood rather than words was his true calling.  Lance specialized in cabinet and furniture work but quickly expanded to include new homes, additions and renovations.  Lance has always had strong, responsive design sensibilities and the ability to organize and collaborate with diverse groups of people on projects large and small.  He uses those skills daily when running Haydenville Woodworking & Design.

Don Brakey
Shop Foreman

Don Brakey - Shop ForemanDon Brakey started woodworking in 1989 on board a U.S. Navy Ship in a Pattern Shop. As a patternmaker, he would fabricate wooden replicas of hard to find parts or castings to be used for molds in the Foundry Area of the ship.

After his 4 year stint with the Navy, Don produced caskets or as he would say “underground furniture” for about 5 years.  He joined up with Haydenville Woodworking in 1997 as a cabinetmaker and now runs the shop operations.
